Game Description

Toothpick is a 2D platformer where you play as a tooth fairy trying to steal the teeth of a human in his bedroom.

Story

For the past 10 years, he has been working as a debt collector at Tooth Pick Inc. — the famous worldwide supplier of Pearly Whites® and Toothmeal®. 

Due to frequently failing to meet his collection quotas, his boss has given him an ultimatum: "Meet the quota tonight, or you're fired!"

Desperate times call for desperate measures...

Working from concept art

This was my first time working with an overwhelming amount of artists in the team, which allowed me to experiment with a new way of designing : after I sketched the level, one of the artists immediately drew concept art of the level, out of which I could always refer to in my later building of the level.

Using blocks

For most of the design process, I had to wait for the art assets to be made. In order to be able to build anyway, I used shapes to create the outline of the level, then added the assets as they came in. This allowed me to give clear format instructions for the level artist to work with.
